Qualifications Felines for Adoption
Frequently asked adoption questions

Volunteer foster families care for our felines until permanent homes can be found for them. We provide the following services to each animal under our care.

  • FELV & FIV testing for all cats.

  • Spay or neuter. All cats are spayed or neutered prior to adoption - no exceptions.

  • FVRCP & Rabies* vaccinations.

  • Flea protection with Revolution and de-worming as needed.

  • Microchip (Registration not included!)

  • Any other necessary medical care.

* Rabies is given to cats and kittens over 5 months or age.

Adoption Qualifications

All potential parents are interviewed to ensure the continued well being of the feline being adopted. After a successful interview, an adoption agreement is signed. The agreement covers the following qualifications for adoption:

  • The feline must remain indoors only.

  • The feline is not to be de-clawed

  • The feline is to be provided with a loving home, nutritious food, and medical care as required to maintain good health, and never to be physically abused or otherwise harmed.

We interview each adopter to find the best possible match for our felines. We reserve the right to refuse an adoption for any reason.

Adoption Locations

Folsom Feline Rescue no longer participates in off site adoptions and we do not run a shelter. Instead we bring the selected cat(s) to your home for personal one on one interaction with out all the stress and distractions of an offsite event. (Travel limits apply)
