Folsom Feline Rescue

Welcome to Lap Cats

The purpose of the LapCats event is to visit senior residents and offerA LapCat with resident some "warm-fuzzy" companionship. Our volunteers will take selected cats around to the residents and offer individual "LapCat" petting time to those individuals who show an interest.

This premier "LapCat" visitation promises to delight the residents, the employees, and the families associated with the retirement homes we visit. Folsom Feline Rescue invites the community and the public to stop by and see the "LapCats" on these special days.

LapCats is held the third Saturday of each month at an assisted

living residence in the Folsom/Orangevale/Fair Oaks area. LapCats

volunteers, both human and feline, visit a different facility each

month. Currently, seven local assisted living facilities receive

visits on a revolving basis.

LapCats Special Care

The LapCats Special Care program is held the first Saturday of every

month. These visits are dedicated to special care wards to visit

those seniors with serious health issues, or who are diagnosed with

Alzheimer's disease or dementia, or who are unresponsive for some

reason. Currently, Fountainwood Assisted Living in Orangevale is the

only facility that is scheduled for monthly Special Care visits, but

in the future, Folsom Feline Rescue expects to expand the program to

other facilities.

To request a visit by LapCats volunteers, or to volunteer to assist

with either program, Folsom Feline Rescue can be reached at

(916) 484-4099.
