Featured Feline -- Bandit

Bandit is a sweet cat that loves to be around people, though he is not crazy about other cats or dogs. He will sleep on the bed and does purr some. He is looking for a nice home where someone can give him some extra attention until he gets comfortable to his new surroundings.  Bandit is about 5 1/2 years old.

Please contact us or stop by an adoption event if you are interested in meeting Bandit.

Bandit will steal your heart!

mese and Maine Coon cats.  Eventually, she will include Persian and Himalayan cats.  "Even though I have my own rescue group, I don't plan on leaving FFR.  I will continue with FFR," she said.

Lynda is currently working for the Department of Rehabilitation in the administrative side.  "If I ever retire, I know what I'm going to do," she said.  "I will volunteer at Sacramento County Animal Shelter."  Right now, she visits the County about twice a month to save cats that are in danger of being put down.  Lynda has a lot of contacts in the rescue community and people call her for advice and call her when they see a cat that needs to be rescued from the shelter.  She also will call friends when she sees a particular breed that needs rescue.

"My dream," she said,  "is that we are all put out of business.  That is my goal.  I want all cats to have loving families to live with."

Message From the President

Wow, what a year!  Last year really exceeded all our expectations--adoptions were up, donations increased, and our spay and neuter programs continue to gain momentum. This year we will continue the excitement by expanding our SNYP (Spay/Neuter Your Pet) program to cover Rancho Cordova, Antelope, and North Highlands, and our feral program is still going strong. Along the lines of trapping, we started an informal trapping social last year that we plan on continuing because so many people had such a fun time. For those that missed out on the social, we meet for ice cream when warm enough and coffee during the colder weather.  Then, we team up in groups to set traps in various areas. It became a fun challenge to see who could catch the most that night.

Another exciting event to help raise funds for spay and neuter is our CatWalk coming in April. If you missed it last year, you don't want to miss this one.  It's promising to be even bigger and better.  Be sure to check out our web site for the new event listed soon.

Until next time, keep on spaying.
