PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Holidays are over, and it's time to act on those New Year's resolutions -- or if you didn't make any, think of some quick.

How about getting that microchip done for your cat or dog? Even if you think he will never get lost, it can happen, and collars or other ID devices are not as effective. Has it been some time since your pet's last checkup? Now is a good time to take them in for an exam. A yearly pet exam is the reason we will have some extra years with our wonderful cat Sonny, who was diagnosed with a heart condition. With treatment he can live many more years, but without it, it could have been a sad story.

As our New Year's resolution, FFR is already planning our fundraising events for the year. Stay tuned for information about April's CatWalk 2006, and our Yard Sale in Lembi Park this May. Both of these fundraisers will help support our spay and neuter programs.

See you next time.

FEATURED FELINE

Tabitha: Still Looking for Her Forever Home

Tabitha is a very playful little cat. She was rescued as a stray from the Folsom area and was brought to a local animal hospital. She is very smart, vocal, and enjoys following her person around the house from room to room. She loves to be petted and rubbed.

She becomes very stressed at adoption events and can be aggressive when scared, so she is available by appointment only. Though she doesn't do well at adoption events, she loves attention and is extremely loving, and will be wonderful in the right home. She has been FELV/FIV tested, spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. Tabitha needs to be in a single-cat household as she does not tolerate other animals at all.

For additional information about Tabitha, or to schedule an appointment to meet her, please call (916) 484-4099 or email info@folsomfelines.org.
