Volunteering with FFR can be a rewarding experience for you and your family -- as well as for the kitties who will benefit from your time.

Fostering Cats or Kittens
Foster "parents" provide a loving indoor-only home while FFR cats are waiting for adoption. We provide food, litter, and necessary veterinary care. Foster parents should be able to transport cats to adoption events to provide exposure.
Average length of foster time: 2 weeks to 2 months, but is flexible.
Weekend Adoption Events
FFR adopts rescued felines to suitable homes at weekend events held in Folsom. If you enjoy talking with people and providing education, and like to handle and care for cats, you may enjoy volunteering at an adoption event.
Volunteer time commitment: 2-3 hours, any Saturday or Sunday.
LapCats
FFR volunteers and cats visit seniors at assisted living residences to offer feline companionship to those showing interest. LapCats visits are held at facilities in Folsom, Orangevale, Fair Oaks, and Citrus Heights.
Volunteer time commitment: 1-2 hours, third Saturday of the month.
Trap-a-Long & Café Social
FFR volunteer trappers meet in Folsom or Fair Oaks twice a month to trap feral (wild/untamed) cats for trap/neuter/release. Volunteers also socialize and enjoy coffee or ice cream, depending on the season. Cats are trapped in humane traps, spayed or neutered, and returned to their feral community. When tame strays are caught in traps, they are rescued and readied for adoption.
Volunteer time commitment: 2 hours, the first or third Monday of the month.
Special Events
FFR holds several fundraiser events each year. Volunteers help plan, coordinate, and staff events; assist in fundraising; and participate in the event.
