PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

You may have noticed that the Trapper John column is missing from this newsletter. I have decided to discontinue the column mainly because I have run out of questions to answer. On the trapping front there is only so much to discuss about how to catch that wily feral feline, and over the years I've covered many of the common topics. Our web site will be updated with the last of the questions (www.folsomfelines.org/trapperjohn.shtml), and I'll continue to post new ones that may be helpful.

As I am writing this message we have just completed one of our major fundraisers for the year, CatWalk 2005. It was a great success, but the continuing need for spay and neuter services in the Sacramento area far outweighs the funding we are able to acquire. Those of you out there interested in helping this important service can donate anytime through our web site. We are always expanding the ways for people to contribute, and now have car donations in the mix along with cell phone and used printer cartridge recycling, online shopping services, and credit card donations. So if you're able, please make a contribution by visiting www.folsomfelines.org/assistance.shtml.

To donate an old car, boat, or RV, visit www.donateacar.com or call 1-800-237-5714; please mention Folsom Feline Rescue. Over 60% of the sale price goes to our organization to help fund spay and neuter programs!

You can also support FFR by donating your old cell phones and used printer cartridges. Drop them off at American River ACE Hardware, 9500 Greenback Lane, Folsom (916-988-5188). FFR will receive $0.80 to $32 for each phone, depending on the make, plus $0.20 to $14.80 for your used printer cartridges.

FEATURED FELINE

Penny is a sweet and loving snuggle cat when in the mood. She can be a bit grumpy when being moved from a comfy spot, and may hiss at you to let you know she is not happy. She is playful and loves a good game of pounce. She's a slow adjuster to a new home and may take a week to settle in. Must be the only cat in the home so she can get all the attention. No young children. She's up-to-date with routine shots, litter box trained, and spayed

If you'd like to meet Penny, please contact Folsom Feline Rescue at (916) 484-4099 or email info@folsomfelines.org.
