About my family:
Ryan and I have been married for 8 years. We have a daughter named Lauren who is 4-1/2. Lauren is a great kid with a lot of personality. She loves to sing and dance and wear fancy shoes. She makes friends wherever she goes. Lauren loves to entertain and be the center of attention. She is loving and caring; polite and sincere. She has definitely changed my life in every positive way.
As far as Ryan, he is first and last person I want to see every day. He's honest and funny and thoughtful. He's passionate about what he believes in. He's an amazing father who cares deeply about Lauren's future and his role in that. As a husband, he encourages my hopes and dreams; helps me up when I'm down; and always finds the right words. Simply: He is my best friend.
And I love them both with all my heart.
Companion animal I share my home with:
Mazzi is our dog. She is a pit bull mix. She turned 15 years old on May 5. She started out as my dog 14 years ago when I rescued her from the Sacramento SPCA. She was a scared, skinny and abused puppy. With the help of obedience training and a lot of love and patience, she turned out to be more than a dog... she turned out to be a friend and a loyal companion that has been with me while I struggled through college, decided on what I wanted to do with my life, got married and had a baby. She's got a great big heart and an incredible love of people. She's my "fur- child" and I love her dearly.

Why I decided to volunteer with FFR:
It makes me sad to know there are animals out there with no families, so I thought I would help change that. I like working with the cats; it is a great way to meet people when you are new to the area, and I believe in Folsom Feline Rescue's cause.
What I like best about volunteering with FFR:
I like watching all the people get excited about the cats/kittens. It is especially rewarding when they actually adopt them.
Advice I have for other people wanting to volunteer:
For a couple hours a month, you can help some great cats and kittens find loving homes and forever families.
