On the day she was adopted, we said, "Now, we're only looking...we'll think about getting a cat, but not now, perhaps later." Of course, all this was prior to entering Petco in Folsom and walking toward FFR's display of cats for adoption that day. Once we saw Wasabi, we were smitten.
Wasabi was timid on her first night home, hiding in our closet, peeking out occasionally, but by the second night, she jumped on our bed and made herself at home. She's been sleeping with us ever since--it's so wonderful to feel her warmth and know she is safe with us.

After a few days, we changed her name to Precious and she certainly lives up to her name. It didn't take long to realize she was the VIP in our house, and our telephone message says, "Hi Folks, you have reached the residence of Precious (a big meow). Kathy and Rich happen to live here, too."
Where we reside, we are allowed one cat, so we're her companions. We play

with her every day. We bought all kinds of goodies for her, but she prefers her favorite string. Every day, her Dad devotes time to play with Precious, and the string plays a big part. One of her favorite pastimes is watching the water go down the drain in the bathroom. It fascinates her.
