Tigerlily by Kim S.
My husband Jeff and I, and our 4-year-old twins Nick and Lauren, adopted Tigerlily from Folsom Feline Rescue in early April 2005. She was named Bitsy by Folsom Feline Rescue, but when we adopted her, I was shown her surrender file. It stated that Tigerlily was her original name, so we decided to keep that name. Our kitty Sami had previously passed away. We really missed her, and missed having a pet. After reading Tigerlily's description on PetFinder.com many, many times, I decided to contact Folsom Feline Rescue to set up an appointment to meet her. Tigerlily was very friendly and calm, and had the sweetest meow. I knew right then that I wanted her to be part of our family. From day one she fit right in. My daughter had been very close with Sami, and Sami slept in her room every night. Sami would come into Lauren's room at story time and stay until Lauren fell asleep, and then she'd come out and visit with my husband and me. The first night I brought Tigerlily home it was close to bedtime, and my daughter asked if the kitty was going to sleep in her room like Sami did. I told her I was not sure, but maybe someday. We sat down to read a story, and the door slowly opened. We looked over and heard a little sweet meow! Tigerlily jumped up on the bed. Every night since then she has joined us for story time, and she stays until Lauren falls asleep.
Tigerlily is very outgoing and loves people. When people walk by her as she sits on her favorite spot (the top of our recliner chair) she will reach one paw out, meow, and touch them gently. We have a big extended family, and when they come over, Tigerlily greets everyone. When she sits with us in the evening she likes to sit on my lap with one special blanket. If I am working at the computer or doing paperwork and not sitting on the couch, she will sit and stare at me with an annoyed look until I go to the couch and sit down. She immediately jumps up on my lap and sleeps for hours. Tigerlily is a big part of our family, and she especially loves our twins. < PREVIOUS PAGE . . . . NEXT PAGE > |
