Featured Feline -- Aramis

Aramis is a big, sweet, 1-1/2-year-old love muffin.  He was abandoned with his brother on the back steps of a veterinary office. We rescued him and his brother, as well as a litter of kittens that was left there.

Aramis is the type of cat that follows you around, rubbing your leg and looking adoringly in your eyes.  He is likes to play and is also a lap cat. He gets along well with other cats and is overall a very mellow and laid-back cat.

Please contact us or stop by an adoption event if you are interested in meeting Aramis.

Message From the President

This month, we participated in National Feral Cat Day on October 16th and also started a new column on trapping issues and questions. The fact that there is a National Feral Cat Day shows the seriousness of the problem. This is an easy problem to get out of control because just doing nothing allows it to escalate. People must get involved to help address this problem. Hopefully with this National Day and our own spay/neuter and trapping programs we can get the word out.

There is a problem, we are helping to provide the resources to correct it, and now we need your help to complete the circle and take the action needed -- namely, to trap those ferals! Our new "Ask Trapper John" column will help to bring awareness to the problem by answering commonly asked questions when dealing with feral cats. I'm still trying to work myself out of a job but I need your help to do it. This is a great time to help us prepare for next year. The number of kittens born will begin to decline as the weather cools down such that from now until spring of next year we really need to focus on spaying those strays so we don't have little ones next year. That's where FSNP (Feral Spay/Neuter Program) comes in. Since May of this year, we have spayed/neutered over 40 feral cats on our own dime, namely $4000, and we're still going!  We will continue raising funds and practicing TNR (Trap Neuter Release) for as long as the need exists. Please consider supporting us in this effort through your donations of time and/or money. As it's been said, it takes a village...or in this case it takes a community of people committed to this worthy cause.
