And They Lived Happily Ever After
ON THE ROAD AGAIN

The door shuts, the engine starts, Willie starts singing on the radio, Dad puts the pedal to the metal, and we are on the road again! No, this is not the script for a new fall series, but rather a start of a new adventure for me, Sabrina, or as Mom calls me, "baby girl."
Who am I? My name is Sabrina and I was adopted from Folsom Feline Rescue. They have asked me to tell you a little bit about myself and how much I love to travel. So here goes...
It all begins as I stroll out the garage door and climb the steps into the motor home. I am always the last one to get on board. My checklist consists of sniffing my litter box for cleanliness, jumping on the bed, checking my dry food dish and water bowl, and then positioning myself on the couch in just the right spot so I can see out. A couple of meows from me and we are off, with Mom telling me everything is just fine, as if I did not know! In a few hours we stop for lunch and I always hope they are having bologna, my favorite. The ploy to get one little bite is to not move off of the couch, and to sit there staring and sniffing until they succumb. As we start moving again I get back into position for the rest of the day.
Here's the fun part. At about 4:00 p.m. I jump up on the dash to remind Dad that my dinner is impending. Now, he does not always listen to me, so I just snooze for awhile soaking up the sun! Lying on my back with my feet up is my favorite, so I just roll back and forth to the rhythm of the road! If they do not stop, I annoy them with an obnoxious smell from my litter box! Doing my "duty" gets me all kind of attention from the driver's seat! Mom usually hollers "pull over"! Mission accomplished!
When we stop for the evening, Dad likes to sit outside and relax, so if I am lucky my harness and leash come out! I love to sit on picnic tables watching birds, chipmunks, and bugs! I tend to get in trouble though when I roll in the dirt as we walk around the campground meeting lots of folks who admire me! They think it is splendid to see a cat on a leash walking, or as Mom says "being prissy"! Why not, I am the Princess! One time Mom got tired of me being dusty and put me in the shower with her. Needless to say, that has never happened again. She now just wipes me off with pet wipes or a wet washcloth. No one gives me a bath except Tim at our local Petco!

I have been to 38 states and Canada, seeing spectacular sites such as Niagara Falls, Yellowstone Park, and a big ball of string somewhere in the Midwest. We typically spend a few weeks with the grandkids in Wisconsin, which is okay by me. They love to come brush me and pet me. In Arizona, we visit Aunt Anita and Uncle Jim, who always have fish or salmon for me every morning!
Yes, I am one spoiled cat!
We have been home way too long, and I hear rumblings that a trip to Arizona may be in the works for November. Let's hope so, because cabin fever has hit me hard. I keep looking for the motor home to pull up out front so we can get on the road again! Take a good look at my picture, because if you are camping you may see me walking around with my Dad! Happy Trails to You! |
