"LAPCATS" MEET SENIORS
Folsom Feline Rescue will be bringing their "LapCats" to meet
the seniors at the College Oak Nursing Home, 4635 College Oak Drive,
Sacramento, on September 23, 2000 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The
purpose of the Saturday event will be to visit the residents and offer
some "warm-fuzzy" companionship. The volunteers will take the
cats around to the residents and offer individual "LapCat"
petting time to those individuals who show an interest.
Folsom Feline Rescue (FFR) is a non-profit corporation staffed entirely
by volunteers and dedicated to feline rescue. The main source of revenue
for FFR comes from public donations, fund-raising events, and adoption
fees. The goals of FFR include rescue of abandoned and unwanted cats,
finding appropriate homes, educating the public, and controlling
overpopulation.
At the College Oaks Nursing Home event, there will be adoptable cats and
adoption counselors. The counselors will be available to explain the FFR
mission and to adopt out animals to suitable homes.
This premier "LapCat" visitation promises to delight the
residents, the employees, and the families associated with the College
Oaks Nursing Home. Folsom Feline Rescue invites the community and the
public to stop by and see the "LapCats" on this special day.
