Olivia recovers!

Olivia was rescued in October of 2001.
She was diagnosed with "Pemphigus Foliaceus" by a dermatology specialist. Read about this unusual disease and Olivia's treatment in our December edition of "The Kitty Scoop".

Olivia begins treatment.

Olivia recovered after months of steroid treatments and antibiotics. While the disease she had can be fatal she was rescued in time and given the necessary treatment that saved her life.

Olivia was adopted into a permanent and loving home in March of 2002.

Raven gets help for Diaphragmatic Hernia repair.

This birth defect creates an opening in the diaphragm (the muscle that separates the chest cavity from the abdominal cavity) and can allow some of the organs that are normally found in the abdomen to move up into the chest cavity through this abnormal opening.

Pepper was found a week ago by Folsom Animal Services. She had a broken leg and was taken to a veterinarian for evaluation. Her exam showed that poor little Pepper had a severely fractured leg and a pelvic fracture as well. For a kitten in such pain she was the sweetest little thing I have seen in some time.

Folsom Feline Rescue took her in and with the help of Viktor;s fund and special fundraising efforts raised money to help to save her leg.

Sally was rescued hurt and bloody by our prison here in Folsom. Initial signs were a blunt force trauma either from a car or person then the snake bite was found. Sally is a super sweet cat that deserved to live. After two surgeries to remove dead and decaying tissue and one blood transfusion she is on the road to recovery thanks to Victors fund and special fundraising efforts

Sally recovers from surgery.

Sally is recovering with multiple drains in her abdomen to allow fluids to exit the wound area. While not the most comfortable she is taking it all with ease.

Mick gets help for Diaphragmatic Hernia repair.

This birth defect creates an opening in the diaphragm (the muscle that separates the chest cavity from the abdominal cavity) and can allow some of the organs that are normally found in the abdomen to move up into the chest cavity through this abnormal opening. This is the first surgery we have done for a small kitten. Raven, an older cat, also had this surgery performed in 2007.
